Connecting Inner and Outer Worlds Sunday, July 8, 2018 Go down to the palace of the king and declare, “Do what is just and right.
Rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed.
I am not talking about partisan politics here, but simply connecting the inner world with the outer world.
As a result of our dualistic thinking, the word “partisan” has come to be synonymous with the word “political.” And so many church-goers do not want to hear the Gospel preached—as it might sound political!
But that does not mean people of faith should not participate in politics.
Today many believe that “inner work” is the purview of spirituality and that we should leave the “outer world” to politicians, scientists, businesses, and workers.
Notably there is a fine seafood restaurant named Yew. Good food is hard to find in Vancouver, and Yew is one of the few that has the goods. Four Seasons Milan This hotel is beautiful and that is reason enough to stay there.
It is right across the street from the Four Seasons.
Four Seasons Vancouver Canadian friends are a bit down on Four Season Vancouver and we find that they are dead wrong.
They are high on new entries in Vancouver such as the newish Rosewood property Hotel Georgia, which is a redo of an old property.
And parts of the restaurant are handsome, having a high ceiling and good lighting (again the exception at Four Seasons where most of its eating rooms have low ceilings and little light). Some of the rooms are wonderfully appointed with delightful floral designs, as we remember, on the walls.
If you sit in the right area, you can even stare upwards and see sky emanating from the 4th floor housing the pool and landscaped outdoor eating area. One has breakfast in the room, in part because it is nicely served and complete, secondly because you look out on a courtyard that is so inspiring that one puts on a proper dressing gown to eat.
We're swimming upstream, since e-commerce today seems to be all about how to sell the minimum for a few dollars less than the next store down the virtual road.
