We have strived to keep costs to a minimum in the hope that members will venture west for what we reckon will be a terrific weekend on roads less travelled.
This weekend is planned to be eminently suitable for the earliest of vehicles, the broadest range of engine capacity, the diversity of drivers and the most pernickety of crews. The chance to drive your early vehicle – car or bike with other vehicles of a similar age and performance with ample time to enjoy the vehicle, take in the scenery and fettle to your hearts content.
Maryborough has a splendid cluster of heritage buildings centred around the Maryborough Civic Centre.
The elegant architecture of The Court House, Town Hall, Post Office and Old Fire Station display the fine workmanship of a bygone era.
After a hearty breakfast on Sunday, the Cold Start competition will be held in the lower carpark prior to departing for a short circuitous trip to the west before arriving back at the Creswick Woollen Mills where we will enjoy a tour and a warming lunch. After lunch it’s a very short trip back to the Resort, leaving plenty of time to load up and get home with time to spare.
The aim is to run a traditional style Rally with all of the thrills and less of the frills.
Mark Twain remarked when visiting "You can put the whole population of Maryborough into it with a sofa a piece and have room for more".
